Hello, My name is Sıla Vural. We would like to present you to our readers.  We know that dried nuts and fruits or with the other called snacks are really healthy foods and source of proteins and vitamins. Turkish families consume the dried nuts and variants during whole year but especially in winter.

Could you introduce yourself and your facilities.
My name is Mehmet Saracoğlu and I’m a member of third generation of Özbeyoğlu founders and administrator. I’m Business Developments Manager. As you can understand our company is a family company.

Could you tell us please your establishment history.
SARACOGLU Kuruyemis ve Gida San.Tic.Ltd.Sti. founders invested on snacks and nuts retailing and wholesaling business in Samsun, Turkey with their first brand, Beyoglu Nuts and Snacks. And time was 1955

And in 1980. Second generation management team took the lead with OZBEYOGLU brand by enlarging the business with manufacturing, sales and marketing activities.

SARACOGLU family company was established and continued its business in a production shop in Samsun Industrial Site. Our company succeeded Samsun distribution network and enlarged its distribution area including the Karadeniz District.Time was 1992

Due to the growth, SARACOGLU company made its biggest investment in year 2000, and built its current modern manufacturing plant covering 4,000 m2 land in Samsun Organized Industrial District. Currently, SARACOGLU Company holds the Turkish Food Registration and Manufacturing Permission, and manufactures its products with the latest technology under hygienic conditions.

Could you give us some figures about your producing capacity?
Özbeyoğlu Manufacturing Facility currently produces 6,000 tons of nuts and snacks products, and is flexible enough to increase the production to 18,000 tons.
Could you tell us please about your marketing policy.
Özbeyolu brings the high quality and fresh nuts and snacks products to its customers, and proves its quality in the domestic market.
Özbeyoğlu has proved its high quality brand not only in domestic but also international markets by 2005. Özbeyolu is currently distributed through the European wholesalers and retailers.

Could you share us the ideas about future of your facilities and qualities.
Özbeyoğlu brand is committed to serve its customers and end-consumers the best quality nut and snack products. Next task for Özbeyoğlu brand is to continue its domestic and global growth by expanding new geographies and by innovating new products; but never to be detached with the Saracoglu Family traditions and values which have carried our company to today.



Are there any differences from the other companies producing the same range of product.
Thanks for this question. Yes . As I said before ours is a family company. And being able to continu the same taste, flavor and smell have been very important. Of course it needs a special work. One of the most important  differences is our machines. All the machines used in manufacturing have been our own design , not fabricated.



And at the end of our interview , please could you tell about your products.
Our products are; Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Double Roasted Chickpeas, Roasted Garbanzo Beans, Salted / Non-Salted Peanuts, Peanuts in-shell, Turkish Pistachios, Turkish Hazelnuts, Corn Nuts, Almonds, Cashews, Walnuts and miscellaneous nuts roasted or covered with sauces.

AYGÜN maintains manufacturing and services at 7000m2 covered production field with more than 200 qualified personnel for medical sector. It also has regional offices in İstanbul, Ankara, İzmir and Diyarbakır.

AYGÜN accomplishes production in accordance with the standards of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and Directive CE 93/42/EEC.

Besidesbeing a manufacturer, Aygün is also a designer company by producing approximately 22.000 different kinds of standard instruments indicated in the present catalogues and special products offered by the doctors.


Our efforts are for the achievement of the mentality in producing the super quality products. Maintaining super services, using high graderaw materials and following the latest technology made our products a favourite brand in international markets.


Aygün Surgical Instruments is the manufacturer, designer and the patent holder of the many products with its developed research and development basis. Aygün Surgical Instruments carried out the responsibility of Project called Electrical Surgical Motor with Micro controller Inspector number 7100182 which is supported by TÜBİTAK and Project was completed by the end of the March and product of project took place in World Market. 
Aygün Surgical Instruments Co.,Inc. has a document of quality management system of ISO 9001 and ISO13485. Moreover, it is a company which has class CE documents for 2A (according to medical devices directive) Surgical Motor Systems, EN868-8 document for sterilization container and other necessary quality documents.

Quality Targets
The quality targets are being checked and concluded in the meeting of Management Review in Aygun Surgical Instruments Co. Inc. at the end of each year. The targets are provided to be formed in accordance with the quality policy of company and on the concerned functions and levels. It is clearly stated in the record of the meeting of Management Review and announced to those concerned. Besides, the individual responsible for each kind of function is defined and the necessary criteria is emphasized to be applied in practice.







R&D
Since itsfoundation, AYGUN sustains its investment policy with an aim to present different products for the medical sector.

A side from the standard production program, it works for shorter and safer operations by developing new models for physicians.

In the first phase of design and development, new product is modelled and simulated in computer environment. Following the production of the first prototype, surgical instrument or device is tested for its conformity torelated standards, in the laboratory environment including all conditions in which it will be used for its lifetime. For all these design and application processes, AYGUN has a serious R&D infrastructure under its roof, which always keeps it one step ahead of developments in itssector.

Samsun's Sweet Face: Filiz Helva ve Reçel

Could you introduce yourself and your firm please.



Of course, this  would be a honour  for us.My name is Fatma .
I’m working as a quality assurance manager in this company. First, I would like to talk about our firm’s history.
Filiz, which commenced business life in the late 1800s in Russia, and whose business life is carried on with the production of sugar candies and Turkish delight with brands named “Arı” and “Zambak”, reached its recent constitution and structure in 1960s by extending its product range with sesame oil, halvah and jam. Filiz has been continuing production with the same brand name, with the same quality and with the same idea for approximately half century and serving traditional national tastes on our dinner tables by means of the factory in European Standards where approximately 100 staffs are employed with the covered area of 6.500 m2, and total area of 10.500 m2, which was a small factory in previous years. Filiz produces daily 16 tons of halvah, 5 tons of jam, 8 tons of sesame oil, 5 tons of sesame for simits (savory roll with sesame), 2 tons of Turkish delight and 4 tons of hazelnut cream with cocoa, and their 95 % are delivered to inland market and 5 % to foreign market. Main countries to which Filiz makes exportation are Germany, France, Russia and Bosnia Herzegovina. Filiz, whose background dates back to the establishment of the Republic,

For this reason, our objectives are the followings;

We know that sweet is so important for Turkish people. And we heard that you have some special recipes used your products.
Yes we have and we publish them on our web site too. Here is one of them.
Strawberry Jam Rolls
Ingredients
3 eggs
1 glasses of caster sugar
2 coffee cup of flour
6 tablespoons of cherry or strawberry jam

* Heat the oven up to 220°. Break the eggs into a heat resistant glass bowl.  Put another bowl filled with water onto the fire such that this bowl can be placed into it. When water boiling with small fire, put the glass bowl onto it (such that the steam of it can get out) mix the eggs until they bubbled. Add castor sugar and mix until it will be denser and color will change into like white cream color. Get out the bowl from the steam and add the flour and mix with wooden spoon. 
* Cover the bottom and edges of rectangular shaped structure with 20X30 cm dimensions with grease proof paper. Empty dough in it and spread over. Cook into the oven until their color became pink. Spread a kitchen cloth over the kitchen stand and spread a large grease proof paper over it. When sponge cake cooled, turn over the structure and empty it over grease proof paper. Pick up the cooking paper onto the sponge cake slowly. Wrap up the sponge cake making a roll together with the grease proof paper under it. 
* Cover the surface of the sponge cake with jam. And wrap up towards the same direction with previous/former making a roll and wrap them with the same paper and then wait for 1-2 hours. Remove the paper and spread castor sugar over it. Serve in slices.

Cultural Values


Some students who are at 4th grade in Kutlukent 80. Yıl Primary School have organised an exhibition about "Cultural Values"by guide theirs teacher Mehtap Bozoğlu.













They've realized this by bringing stuff from their own house.
The students demonstrated how they have been entrepreneurs as organising exhibition like this.

A Departure Story from the Port

Samsun is a city that has a large private port :"Samsun Port"


Every day, dozens of ships enter to the port and depart from it.






There are many silos and warehouses for keeping the stuff that will be carried by cargo boats.


And many cranes and winches work without cease during days and nights.



Some cargo boats wait for their order of loading or unloading.



When a cargo boat load,  two captains of the dock  direct the boat. And also sometimes the guides make guidance by pushing and pulling the ships.










And when one of the boat leaves the port. the other one takes its place.

















Port gives a lot of opportunities of employment to Samsun .
